Conference Overview

We have a great 3-Day program lined up for you including a full day of Workshops/Tutorials and Peer2Peer Roundtables (an RFID Think Tank!) on Tuesday plus the Opening Reception on the exhibit floor.  Wednesday’s action starts with the IEEE Plenary, followed by Hot Topics, the kick-off of the Technical Paper Presentations, the IEEE RFID Poster Session, and the Smart Cities Mega-Challenge Competition. Thursday’s program delivers our second Keynote Session and the core Technical Paper Presentations and Research that you count on from IEEE – the day is full of the leading authors and innovative solutions.

Pre-Conference (included in your registration)

IEEE RFID 2018 Pre-Conference Workshops and Tutorials (2 Concurrent Tracks, Tuesday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm)

Pre-conference workshops are produced by leading RFID researchers and provide in-depth perspectives and technical knowledge.

IEEE RFID 2018 Peer2Peer Roundtable Discussions (Tuesday, 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm)

An RFID Think Tank and one of the best networking opportunities during the conference! Industry and academia come together to examine real world challenges and engage with RFID subject matter experts from around the world.

 Plenary Session and Keynote Speakers (Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 am – 10:00 am)

Internationally renowned speakers deliver timely and relevant talks on their latest projects and findings.

IEEE RFID Technical Paper Presentations (2 Concurrent Tracks, Wednesday, 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm, Thursday, 1:00 pm – 4:15 pm)

IEEE RFID is a technical conference that maintains the exceptional level of technical quality our attendees expect. Every accepted paper goes through a rigorous IEEE peer review process conducted by our outstanding Technical Program Committee and led by our TPC Chair, Dr. Rahul Bhattacharyya.

Hot Topics in RFID (Thursday, 10:15 am – 12:00 pm)

“Hot Topics” are invited presenters selected from distinguished researchers around the world to share on the hottest topics in RFID.

Activities on the Tradeshow Floor:

2018 IEEE RFID Poster Session (Wednesday, 2:45 pm – 4:15 pm – Exhibit Hall)

At the poster session, you will be able to:

  • View posters covering research on a wide variety of topics including RFID localization, novel tag and reader designs, RFID enabled sensors, RFID software applications, novel IoT devices, RFID antennas and radio-wave propagation, and energy harvesting and wireless power.
  • Speak and network with researchers representing institutions and companies from many countries
  • Participate in interactive research demonstrations
  • Cast your vote for the 2018 Best Poster Award – This year we will have a technical vote and a popular vote for Best Poster – don’t forget to vote!
  • Presenters give a 30-second teaser talk at the Opening Plenary Session

IEEE RFID Smart Cities Mega Challenge Competition (Wednesday, 4:15–5:00 – Exhibit Hall, RFID LIVE Awards Theater)

The challenge will take place on the Exhibit Floor, where the finalists will compete for the IEEE RFID 2018 Smart Cities Mega-Challenge Award. These finalists will be selected from global entries made by teams from around the world.  They address problems cities are facing and identify Smart Cities solutions and the steps needed to implement their RFID based solution.
